Semiconductors and compute
Compute, memory, packaging, testing, and modular systems.
Touchdown Labs mission
Imagine hardware built around your work.
Instead of building your work around hardware.
Science, hardware, and manufacturing research
We research semiconductors, materials science, physics, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, manufacturing, supply chains, energy, and water.
Our goal
We want more people and organizations able to research, design, test, manufacture, and improve physical systems.
That capability starts with culture: asking better questions, documenting methods, measuring failure, transferring knowledge, and improving processes together. Equipment and capital matter, but knowledge disappears unless people and institutions know how to carry it forward.
We want to help expand that capability in the United States while collaborating with institutions and industrial teams around the world. Materials, equipment, fabrication, software, talent, and supply chains are already global.
We start with a real workload or manufacturing problem. We follow what breaks through software, memory, packaging, heat, materials, process, and equipment, then turn the repeated limit into a specific research question.
What we study
01
Compute, memory, packaging, testing, and modular systems.
02
Materials that improve heat, reliability, performance, and manufacturability.
03
Processes, equipment, automation, inspection, sourcing, and logistics.
04
Use less energy, water, material, time, and cost.
Research collaboration
Tell us what needs to become cheaper, faster, more reliable, or easier to make, and what your organization can contribute.
Research collaboration is separately scoped. We confirm the question, participants, information-sharing terms, rights, funding, and proof plan before project materials are exchanged.
